Abstract
Rating rural areas in terms of development components is very important to identity the present status and develop balanced regional planning. In terms of the purpose, the present research was an applied one, and in terms of the components studied, its approach was a mixture of documentary and analytical methods. The analysis was based on the statistical information provided in tables and information structure, which were used in the form of matrices for the final analysis based on TOPSIS model. The data were analyzed for seven cities in Kermanshah province (Sarpol Zahab, Eslamabad-e-Gharb, Gilan Gharb, Javanrud, Dalahoo, Salas-e Babajani, and Qasr-e Shirin). In order to identify the development of the villages under study, demographic, health, infrastructure, service, and cultural indices were used. The results indicated that based on the indices identified, Hamil, Zardeh, Shiyan, South Howmeh, Qaleh Shahin, Kalashi, North Howmeh, Nasrabad, and Gurani are rated as very developed rural districts. Furthermore, Howmeh-ye Sarpol, Beshiva Pataq, Howmeh-ye Kerend, Sharvineh, Harsam, Dasht-e Zahab, Heydariyeh, Mansuri, and Deireh are rated as developed rural districts. Dasht-e Hor, Zamkan, Posht Tang, Chelleh, Palanganeh, Qalkhani, Howmeh, and Khaneh Shoor are among less developed rural districts. Finally, Bazan, Fathabad, Vizhenan, Bivanij, Jeygaran, Gwawar, Ezgeleh, and Sar Qaleh, which are mostly far from the city center, are rated as undeveloped rural districts.
